Frequesntly Asked Questions

1. How should my etiquette classes be organized?

  • Ideally, your classes should have ten to fifteen students.  If students are different ages, you will pair student up according to ages.  We highly recommend that you hire a high school student to help you with the classes, or you should teach the classes with a good friend and split your profits.

2.  How many days should the class last?

  • There are two types of classes to offer. The first is a four day class after school or a four day summer camp or enrichment class.  These classes should last for one and a half hours for four days.  You will choose a topic or topics and then choose engaging lessons from the curriculum that will fit in your time-frame.  There are so many games and activities in the curriculum that these classes could be offered year round.  The curriculum also contains many worksheets that can be copied for your students.
  • The second type of classes you could offer would be what we call “specialty” classes. These would be offered on a one time basis and could be offered to Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts or Brownies, or after school as enrichment etiquette classes. Again, we would suggest that you hire a helper, or team up with a good friend and split the profits. There are enough lessons in the curriculum to provide you with activities year round for these etiquette classes.

3.  How should classes be priced?

  • The cost of the program will vary by geographic and socio-economic market.  For an upper middle class area, the recommended price point is $100.00 + per student for eight hours of instruction.  Additional income can be generated by offering the ancillary books (the handbook and activity/workbook) by buying the books from Tadpole Dreams at a lower cost and offering them to your students at a higher cost and keeping the profits for yourself.
  • As a side note, the program is most successful if prizes are handed out for the games that are included in the program.  Small prizes are excellent incentives that will engage your students and have them asking to come back for other classes.
